Building the Future of Agriculture: Navisworks in the New Jacto Factory

Atualizado: 5 de jun. de 2024

The construction of the new factory of Jacto, a Brazilian giant in the production of agricultural machinery, represented a monumental challenge. With 96 thousand m² and cutting-edge technologies, the project required millimeter precision in the integration of the various areas and systems. BIM was the key to meeting this demand, allowing the creation of a complete virtual model of the factory.

My Role at Temon:

As a BIM modeler at Temon Técnica e Montagens, my responsibilities included:

  • Modeling in detail the factory facilities in Revit.

  • Coordinating existing models from different specialties.

  • Generating a federated model in Navisworks for analysis and simulation.

  • Collaborating with engineers and architects to ensure compatibility between projects.

  • Using Navisworks to:

  • Detect and correct interferences between different areas of the factory.

  • Visualize and analyze the project in 3D, facilitating decision making.

  • Simulate the construction process and identify potential problems.

  • Quantify with precision the materials needed for the work.

  • Generate accurate and up-to-date documentation.

The Impact of Navisworks:

Navisworks was an essential tool for the success of the new Jacto factory project. Through the federated model, it was possible to:

  • Avoid errors and rework during construction.

  • Optimize the factory layout and production flow.

  • Reduce costs and delivery times.

  • Improve communication between the different teams involved in the project.

Results and Learnings:

The experience in the construction of the new Jacto factory was a milestone in my career as a BIM modeler. Through the use of innovative tools such as Navisworks, I was able to contribute to a grandiose project that represents the future of agriculture.

Conclusion:

The experience in the construction of the new Jacto factory provided me with invaluable learning about the potential of BIM and Navisworks in the construction industry. Navisworks has proven to be a powerful tool to optimize projects, reduce costs and deadlines, and guarantee the quality and safety of works.
