Panelas Dam 2: Electrical Modeling and BIM Expertise

The pilot project for the recovery of the Panelas 2 Dam in Pernambuco represented a great opportunity to deepen my knowledge in electrical modeling and BIM methodology. The experience provided valuable learning and contributed to the development of essential skills in the area.

At Deskgraphics, I joined the team responsible for implementing the BIM methodology in the project. This innovative methodology optimizes the construction process and offers several benefits, such as:

• Increased accuracy and control over the project;

• Cost and execution time reduction;

• Improved communication and collaboration between teams;

• Complete 3D visualization of the project.

Electrical Equipment Families:

I actively participated in the development of electrical equipment families, using Revit software. This task required a deep knowledge of electrical components and the NBR 6493 standard, which defines the guidelines for electrical installations in buildings.

Electrical and Lighting Modeling:

Based on the created equipment families, I performed the complete modeling of the electrical and lighting part of the Panelas 2 Dam. The process involved:

• Precise positioning of electrical equipment;

• Correct sizing of cables and conduits;

• Calculation of electrical loads;

• Preparation of electrical plans and diagrams.

Results and Learnings:

Participation in the pilot project provided significant results, such as:

• Increased productivity and efficiency in electrical modeling;

• Improved project quality;

• Error and rework reduction;

• Increased integration between engineering teams.

The experience at the Panelas 2 Dam was enriching and contributed to my professional growth. The contact with the BIM methodology and the modeling of electrical equipment provided me with a more comprehensive view of the construction process and reinforced the importance of collaboration between teams.
